In our FOURTH “FREE”episode of “LIVING THE ALOHA LIFE” we’ll be discussing MOVING TO HAWAII YOUNG!

In this Podcast we sit down with new friends Myles and Klaudia from Chicago…both in their early 20’s and with a dream to move to Hawaii while young…and they MADE IT HAPPEN!

Myles Bilenda recently moved to the beautiful island of Oahu with his awesome girlfriend Klaudia and their dog Kai! They decided to add onto their family by getting Kai a little puppy brother here on the island; Mako. Myles was born and raised in the city of Chicago and has always dreamed of an island lifestyle ever since he was a little boy. His main goal in life is to be happy no matter what and to enjoy every little step life has to offer him. And that included jumping off that cliff called life and moving to Hawaii! Myles was a dog trainer and handler at a dog daycare-boarding and training facility in the city of Chicago and left behind a passion of his and a good paying job to move to Oahu. Nykes and Klaudia decided to move once they discovered that the University of Hawaii offered Public Health and Epidemiology for graduate school as that is what Klaudia is studying for her future career. Once she applied, they started Kai’s paperwork and began the process of moving to Hawaii. The day she got in, they booked their flights, and as they say the rest is history….Now they are living it up paradise style and are happier than ever and know they really did make the right choice to move. Myles currently drives on the Lyft platform here on Oahu and prides himself on delivering nothing but A1 aloha to every customer he gets! Myles loves life here in Hawaii and everything it means to be a resident of this magically wonderful island. He fell in love with the sport of bodyboarding and now Klaudia has to drag him out of the water when it’s time to go home for dinner. Hawaii challenges you in an amazing way and in life you need challenges to be happy and feel fulfilled! Myles loves Hawaii as much as he loves anything and he sees Klaudia, Kai, Mako and himself staying here happily ever after.

Klaudia, back in Chicago, got a Bachelor’s Degree in Neuroscience and one in Biology and worked as a pharmacy technician. Once she got accepted to the University of Hawaii’s Public Health graduate program, Myles and Klaudia started the process of moving to Oahu. Now, she is working on a Master’s Degree in Public Health specializing in Epidemiology and working in a Japanese restaurant. they both are happier than ever and know that they were incredibly lucky to have the opportunity to move to such a beautiful and amazing place. Klaudia loves everything that Hawaii has to offer and embraces all of the great opportunities in the islands as well as the challenges. Myles and Klaudia absolutely love it on Oahu and know they made the right choice moving here, and they are really looking forward to staying in Hawaii forever with their little pups!

Damn… you just know that your eventual “reunion” episode is going to be totally “FIYAH!!!” It was great to hear a young couple moving to Hawaii with few illusions about how tough the struggle was going to be but able to overcome adversity due in great part to their positive attitude and understanding of the situation around them? Yeah, sadly the attitude of some the younger folks definitely seems more militant and confrontational from jump even without having a lick of context or reason to dislike someone simply because they aren’t assumed local? Probably something that needs to be touched… Read more »
