In our EIGHTH “FREE”episode of “LIVING THE ALOHA LIFE” we’ll be diving into a mans FILM and COMIC BOOK journey that takes him “From Hawaii to Japan and Back”…along with LA in the mix! Meet our special guest HIROSHI MORI.
Hiroshi moved around a lot as a kid…Living in Denver, Saskatoon, Tokyo, Shreveport and landing in Honolulu for middle school. At the University of Hawaii Manoa he developed a life long love for photography and was introduced to creating animation in Robert Rodeck’s Images in Motion Class. This eventually led years later to study under the tutelage of Jules Engel at CaliArts in the Experimental Animation Program.
Hiroshi’s hand drawn animation short film CHAIR was shown at many Film Festivals including SXSW. He is one of the Founders of the THIRD FLOOR Previsualization Studio and has been a PREVIS/POSTVIS and layout Artist for many Big Hollywood films.
Some of the Films Hiroshi had his hands on:
MAD MAX: FURY ROAD-MEN IN BLACK-AVENGERS-STAR WARS: REVENGE OF THE SITH-SURF’S UP and many other Feature films.
Today Hiroshi is on travel, from Hawaii, to Japan, to LA and back. His focus is on writing and drawing his HAWAII COMIC BOOK SERIES “ISLAND KINGDOM” as he explores new avenues in the possible creation of a Graphic Novel for his vision of one day possibly making a film.
